Learning Methodology

Program includes courses on human development, social foundations of education and educational technology. Students learn about tools and strategies for integrating technology into teaching and learning in face-to-face and online learning environments.

Admissions Requirements

General requirements for admission to the Master’s Degree in Educational Technology include:

  1. Apply for admission to Cleveland State University

  2. Submit an official transcript for an undergraduate degree.

  3. Have a baccalaureate degree less than six years old at time of application AND undergraduate cumulative grade point average was at least 2.75 out of 4.00.

    • If you don't meet the GPA requirements, you can enroll as a non-degree student and complete the equivalent of 12 semester hours of Cleveland State University graduate coursework (including EDB 601). Receiving a grade of B or better in each course allows you to apply to the program.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition and financial aid for CSU programs are kept competitive so you can receive the education you deserve. Tuition for online programs and courses follows the same fee structure as traditional, on-campus programs and courses. Current CSU Graduate tuition costs can be found on the Bursar’s website.

Approximately 70% of CSU’s students receive some form of financial assistance. The University participates in or administers all the major federal and state grant and loan programs. In addition, CSU provides University grants and scholarships.

To begin the financial aid process, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must file a FAFSA every year after January 1st to receive your financial aid. Cleveland State University’s financial aid school code is 003032.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have background in education to be in this program?

No. While many of our students have an education background, an education degree is not required for the Master’s program. However, for students who pursue the Computer and Technology endorsement, a current Ohio K-12 licensure is required.

Do I need to take the GRE to apply to this program?

GRE is not required for acceptance into the Educational Technology program.

Does this degree lead to specific employment?

In addition to enhancing current employment in education either in K-12 or adult learning, graduates can find employment in organizations or companies in instructional design, training, e-learning. Graduates with the K-12 focus are prepared for positions, such as technology coach, instructional technology specialist and technology coordinator.
